Costs

We will agree the basis and rate of our fees in advance. We usually charge fees on a time-cost basis (VAT is payable in addition). However, we are also able to quote a fixed fee in certain circumstances. Our standard terms of business are set out below.

Terms of Business

Our service

PTL is committed to maintaining the highest standards of service.

You may request that particular individuals carry out your work and we will accommodate your request wherever possible. In all cases, we shall inform you of the name of the director and members of our staff who will be engaged on a particular matter for you, although from time to time other members of staff may assist in the service provided.

We shall keep you informed about your matters and you should feel free to contact us at any time.

We are confident of the standard of service we offer, but in the event that you encounter any problem please contact either the director responsible for the particular matter or our Chairman Christopher Avery who will be happy to speak to you at any time.

Our fees and other costs

In most cases, our fees will be charged on the basis of time spent on a matter. You will be notified of the hourly rate (plus VAT) charged for the director or staff carrying out your work. The rates will be revised at intervals and typically increase annually in line with national average earnings. You will be notified of any changes. Where fees are charged on an hourly basis, we reserve the right to vary the rates in cases involving unusual urgency and/or out of hours working.

We also pass on to you other costs (referred to as "disbursements" in our invoices) such as agents, bulk photocopying and out of pocket costs.

Commission

In the event that we arrange insurance policies for you, we may earn a commission from the insurance company concerned. The amount of any commission will be disclosed and rebated to a pension scheme or beneficiary in full, less any fees owing.

Confidentiality

The work we carry out for you is confidential. If you require us to communicate with you in any particular way in order to maintain confidentiality within your organisation, please inform us.
