The Alternative Governance Structure (AGS)

The AGS allows a company and its employees to remain involved in the management of a pension scheme but without the liability associated with being a trustee.

Amongst other advantages, the AGS avoids:

  • The need for a Member Nominated Trustee process
  • The need for compliance with the Trustees’ Knowledge and Understanding requirements
  • The employer having to underwrite an indemnity to the trustees

How it works
PTL are appointed as the sole corporate trustee and chair of a governance committee that advises the trustee.
The governance committee would be involved in all aspects of managing the scheme.
