Government urged to clarify whether Auto-Enrolment will be put on ice

Reports in the Sunday Telegraph and Sunday Times over the past weekends have claimed implementation could be delayed and the obligations on smaller firms could be scrapped as a result of the Beecroft report on cutting red tape.

Pitmans Trustees managing director Richard Butcher added: "Whether or not there is to be a change as a result of this report, employers need certainty soon. On-going uncertainty does employers, employees and the economy no favours. It will also do further damage to the cause of work place retirement saving."
